Iván López Reynoso, ‘Diego Rivera’ State Prize of the Arts

Iván López Reynoso receives today the ‘Diego Rivera’ State Prize of the Arts for his outstanding achievement in the world of music.

Considered one of the most important young conductors in Mexico, Iván López Reynoso won the Diego Rivera State Arts Prize, which is awarded to those who, for their actions, productions or teaching, research or dissemination work, have contributed to enrich the country's cultural heritage.

With only 27 years of age, the Guanajuato Orchestra and Countertenor Director, Iván López Reynoso, is advancing by leaps and bounds. At age 24 he made his international debut at the prestigious Rossini Opera Festival in the city of Pesaro, Italy, becoming the first Mexican to direct at that festival and currently serves as Erster Kapellmeister (chapel master) of the State Theater of Braunschweig, one of the oldest in Germany. As if this were not enough, he has just won the Fourth State Prize for Arts 'Diego Rivera' awarded by the State Congress of Guanajuato.
